This is an Entertainment Software and lifestyle data analytics company.  We provide geo-location based curated content using our digital entertainment marketplace by assessing user generated behaviors and our proprietary predictive analysis model.

Role Summary:

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for determining and overseeing technological needs as well as determining the organization’s IT infrastructure that supports the organization’s objectives and priorities. Moreover, the role includes management and oversight of resources identified to Build, Develop/Implement and Support the technical infrastructure (software and hardware) allocated to support the mobile /web application.  Additionally, the role includes developing/implementing the technical strategy required for a successful launch of the mobile/web application.  Further, the CTO will act as a liaison between the customer and the business by taking on the responsibilities of customer relations, getting a grasp on the target market and helping deliver IT projects to market.  Reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with founders to understand the business proposition and audience and assist in developing technical strategy that delivers on the desired customer and business imperatives
  • Identify opportunities and risks for delivering services as a mobile base business including the identification of competitive services and the identification of opportunities of innovation
  • Identifies and recommends key feature User Interface enhancements
  • Plans and ensures Back-end Architecture Scalability and readiness
  • Communicates technology strategy to partners as well as investors.
  • Implementation and Development
  • Establishes official application platform development process
  • Focuses on strategy and designing the way that technology will serve the business as well as focuses on development and all things technological.
  • Ensures that “best practices” are defined, documented and applied during the development and implementation of applications
  • Oversees and monitors code infrastructure, backend database, data and web analytics and makes recommendations that align with business goals.
  • Supervise deployment to staging and production servers
  • Operational Management
  • Defines processes to operationalize and insure internal technical processes and user services comply with the company’s standards, goals and objectives for long-term sustainability.
  • Manages expectations, builds technology, nurtures the business culture and inspires the technology/IT team.
  • Builds processes for data protection and quality assurance.  Reduce the risk of technological breaches.
  • Attracts, hires and develops the core development team.  Identifies and attracts developers that are gifted and will help shape the culture of the business  
  • Makes executive decisions regarding technological needs
  • Develops policies and procedures and uses technology to enhance products and services that focus on external customers.
  • Develops strategies to increase revenue and perform a cost-benefit analysis and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Supports business development initiatives as required as a business liaison.

Background and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology.  MBA or MSM degree is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with varies technology platforms 
  • A deep technical knowledge of the area being developed.  Additionally, a knowledge and understanding of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Both hardcore development and high-level architecture experience.
  • In depth technical knowledge in the development of mobile applications
  • Team Leadership experience and the ability to hire a technical team
  • Ability to explain technical plans to non-technical people, i.e. investors, board members, etc.
  • A proven ability to deliver nearly on time despite tight schedules and changing demands
  • Agile management experience
  • Strong business and financial acumen required
  • Excellent communications skills
