A coalition of leading chief executives and their companies who are coming together to hire, promote, and advance one million Black individuals who do not yet have a four-year degree into family-sustaining careers over the next 10 years. We take a skills-first approach, connecting employers with talent partners, leading nonprofits, and other skill-credentialing organizations to support the development and promotion of diverse talent. Ultimately, our vision is to close the racial wealth gap in the United States. This role will report to the Chief Strategic Growth Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Strategy and Planning 
    • Oversee work in 4-6 high priority geographies across the country
    • Understand market landscape and community dynamics to build a viable strategy that builds upon the existing ecosystem
    • Co-develop local strategy and implementation plan to capture employer demand and activate talent ecosystem
    • Incorporate lessons and innovations from other regions to improve upon local work 
  • Relationship Management
    • Manage relationship with local Employer Market Leads
    • Manage relationship with Community Development Leads
    • Partner with Leads to build relationships with relevant local stakeholder organizations (e.g., local CBOs, talent developers, community colleges, faith communities)
  • Delivering Results
    • Set clear goals and expectations for Lead partners and stakeholders
    • Contribute to design of indicators, metrics, and key data needed to quantify progress and success of hiring and promotions in each market
    • Co-design market approach that results in significant engagement and commitment by local communities
    • Manage and influence the contributions of others to drive near-term results and long-term outcomes 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Skilled strategic communicator and listener
  • Experience in building deep and trusting relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in project management, including ability to juggle multiple priorities while staying organized and focused
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Able to provide clear and direct feedback to improve performance
  • Strikes balance between autonomy and support as a manager
  • Cultural competence and ability to bridge sectors and lines of difference
  • Credible with both corporate and community audiences
  • Experience in community organizing, collective impact, or related efforts
  • Experience in workforce development or education; corporate talent acquisition or recruitment; diversity, equity, and inclusion or racial equity a plus
