Position Summary:

Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus, Oxford College of Emory University is accepting applications for  Engineer, Sustainability. This person will be reporting to the Director of Engineering Services and will provide the vision, leadership, and direction in the creation of a short and long-term energy strategy to achieve the University’s energy and carbon reduction goals and ensure high quality, reliable, and affordable utilities for the campus. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Assists in the long-range planning for the physical development of Emory’s utility infrastructure and environmental control systems to support enhanced Emory Enterprise resilience and overall carbon reduction goals as well as Master Plan initiatives. 
• Participates in project development and implementation relating to sustainability, resilience, and utility projects. 
• Provides insight and expertise to third-party financing of large utility initiatives through established relationships in the energy and utilities market. 
• Serves as the Energy Advisor for the Emory enterprise with regard to energy and utilities, and works with the City of Atlanta and surrounding community to help develop and implement resiliency goals requiring coordination with local utilities. 
• Drives innovation with regard to resilience and sustainable, efficient technologies for inclusion in new construction and major renovation projects. 
• Develops proformas to view sustainability and utility investments in a holistic nature creating client and institutional value. 
• Performs related responsibilities as required. 

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, and two years of relevant utility management/strategy experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience. 
• At least two years of leadership experience and a professional engineering license are preferred.
