Nordson Adhesive Dispensing Systems (ADS) sets the global standard in hot melt machines and dispensing, coating, and laminating systems. Manufacturers rely on our equipment for packaging, product assembly and surface treatment applications. With a leading services and support network, we help our customers worldwide increase manufacturing efficiencies and produce the highest quality products.

Position Summary:

Direct new product development and product support activities as they relate to electrical, controls, software, and IOT engineering functions as well as technical communications and user interfaces. Lead a multi-disciplinary team and manage outside contractors in the US and India to bring technology leadership and highest quality products to market within schedule and budget. The group’s focus is on products that have significant strategic or financial impact and are used across regions and businesses within the Adhesive divisions. Effective and frequent contact with technical and commercial individuals worldwide is vital to achieve ongoing alignment and customer success.

  • Develop products for worldwide markets that are superior in performance and user experience
  • Make data-driven choices, focus, and simplify activities to deliver leadership level product innovation
  • Evaluate and drive use of existing and emerging technologies for revenue growth and process improvements
  • Talent management to ensure the organization is well positioned to meet current and future business needs
  • Technical oversight for product development including specifications and design/implementation guidance
  • Work in a collaborative team environment across multiple disciplines and communicate technical details of projects
  • Provide solutions to business challenges and find opportunities for new intellectual property
  • Manage the design and support of custom controls (printed circuit boards) as well as products utilizing COTS devices
  • Analyze product requirements, oversee creation of hardware/software specifications, design, development, verification 
  • Think strategically and identify potential technology threats to our business

Requirements: What you must bring 

  • Master’s degree in engineering and 10 years relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with 15 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an engineering group with electrical, controls, and software disciplines
  • Experience in industrial product development with interaction of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Leadership in building and developing diverse and inclusive winning teams
  • Ability to clearly present complex technical product requirements and solutions at all levels of the organization
  • Success in building relationships and delivering results across a global environment
  • Estimated 15% travel will be required
